At just 10 years old, Elan Amienyi’s love of soccer is taking him far beyond his Arkansas home.

Amienyi will represent the USA Under-12 team at the 6th International FBCESCOLA Soccer tournament in Spain on April 6 – 14, 2017. Players from all over the world will meet and compete against other youth global FBC Academy and Escola teams in Barcelona.

Elan was selected to compete based on the high ratings he received for his skill level and sportsmanship at FCBESCOLA summer camp in Olathe, Kansas last year. Only 48 players made the final cut.
“It’s a great honor to be invited and a great stepping stone for me,” Elan said. “I hope to represent the US well and bring recognition to myself, my family and Jonesboro.”
Locally, Elan plays for the U12 Boys team of Arkansas Revolution FC, the classic division of the Jonesboro Soccer Association, coached by his father, Dr. Osa’ Amienyi, a nationally certified coach. “As parents, Sanoya and I could not be more proud of Elan,” Dr. Amienyi said. “His passion and dedication to the sport shows every time he steps on the field. We’ve been told many times that he is fun to watch.”

In the off-season, Elan plays 3v3 soccer. His former team, Heber Springs Storm won U10 and U11 brackets at the Disney 3x3 National Championships in 2015 and 2016. His current team, Arkansas Spartans FC (football club) is ranked fourth in the 3v3 live rankings.

Soccer is the only competitive sport Elan plays. His dream is to become a professional player someday.
